The Student Advantage program allows eligible students, staff and faculty at Boise State to download, install and use Microsoft Office software for Windows (Office 2016 ProPlus base applications) and Mac (Office 2016 for Mac base applications) through the Student Advantage Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus program.
Students Students must be enrolled and registered for classes at Boise State. Registration status is verified on the tenth day of each semester. The Office 365 ProPlus license for students expires 30 days following graduation, or when you are no longer actively enrolled and registered for classes at Boise State. Once your license expires, you will be able to view Microsoft Office files using the software but will not be able to edit those files. You do not lose access to the software over the summer or winter breaks if you are enrolled for the following semester.
Employees Faculty and staff must be current employees in order to download and use MS Office through the Student Advantage Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus program. Eligible students, staff and faculty can install and use Microsoft Office software on up to five computers. Follow the download instructions below and use your Boise State email address to activate your Student Advantage Office 365 ProPlus license.
Windows Computers. Operating System: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10. (Note: 32-bit Office can be installed on 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems, and 64-bit Office can only be installed on 64-bit operating systems.). Computer and processor: 1 GHZ or faster x86 or 64-bit processor with SSE2 instruction set. Memory: 1 GB RAM for 32-bit versions, 2 GM RAM recommended for 64-bit versions for graphics features, Outlook Instant Search, and certain advanced functionality. Disk Space: 3 GB.
Monitor resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher Mac Computers. Operating System: Mac OS X version 10.9 or later. Processor: Intel processor. Memory: 4 GB of RAM recommended.
Disk Space: 2.5 GB formatted HFS+ (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus). Display/Monitor Resolution: 1280 x 768 or higher.
Faculty, staff, and students in the following departments can download the latest version of Microsoft Office free of charge as part of the Microsoft Campus Agreement:. Arts, Sciences & Engineering.
Eastman School of Music. River Campus Libraries. Simon School of Business. University IT and CIRC. Warner School of Education You can install Microsoft Office on up to five devices, either University owned or personally owned. Note: Students leaving University of Rochester (by graduating or otherwise) and faculty and staff leaving University of Rochester (by retiring or otherwise) will need to purchase Office to continue using it. You will be prompted by Microsoft to purchase Office the next time you launch the software.
If you don’t purchase Office, you will still be able to open the documents you created but won’t be able to edit them or create new documents. Before installing or upgrading Microsoft Office on a University-owned device, contact your local IT support specialist. Office 2016 can be installed on Windows 7, 8.1, or 10. Office 2016 for Mac can be installed on Mac OS 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher. Office 2011 for Mac can be installed on Mac OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or 10.9 (Mavericks).
Step 1 Open a web browser and go to Step 2 In the “[email protected]” field, enter your [email protected] and click “Sign In”. This will re-direct you to the University’s Office 365 login page.
Step 3 Enter your username and password (including the ur domain). Step 4 In the Software window, click Office. Then click the Install button. Windows Mac With Office 2011 for Mac, you may encounter a “Getting Started” window with three options. Choose “Sign in to an existing Office 365 subscription” and input your [email protected] and password when prompted. Step 5 The software will be downloaded and installed on your computer. Your copy of Microsoft Office remains active until you leave the University, at which point, you will either need to uninstall it or purchase a license key.
